199er Spring Championship
The 199'er tournament was a great success 40.5 inspite of the forecasted snow. There were 40.5 tables at the 11:00 AM session. Mike Murphy and Suzi Shoonmaker were the overall winners in A&B and Barbara Brown and Crystal Buerlin were the overall winners in the C stratification. There were many positive comments about the well run tournament and the great hospitality.
In the evening session, we actually had 9.5 tables who came out in the terrible weather to play bridge. Being true bridge diehards, they were undeterred by the snow. The overall winners in A,B,&C were Linda Litton and Marilyn Simmons from Columbia and Fulton MO. A nice win for them as they faced a 2 hour drive home in the tough weather.
We appreciated the hard work of the volunteers, Jackie Baker, Bill Bunn, and Carl Clyne as well as the directors, Donna Coker and Mark Ehret who made the tournament run smoothly. A special thanks to Sandy Springer for her wonderful catering.
