Remembering Jerry Schneider

My earliest memories of Jerry were from the rubber bridge club

at the Dorchester Hotel. 

He usually just kibitzed, but when he played, he did little wrong. 

Unlike some of the established players of the time,

he was very friendly with me

and ultimately I got to play with him in the annual KO associated

with the Mississippi Valley Regional in 1978...

which we won - my first regional KO win...and his too. 

Karen Walker looked Jerry up in the 1984 edition of

the Encyclopedia of Bridge.

Jerry also had 2 regional Swiss team titles, 1973 and 1981;

the Men's Pair in 1979, and the GNTs in 1978. 

Jerry was a star at and away from the table -

all who knew him miss him.
